Snowbird is an unincorporated area in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. It is a ski resort in Little Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains that offers alpine skiing and snowboarding.
Snowbird is located about 30 miles from Salt Lake City, allowing visitors to arrive from Salt Lake City International Airport and settle in the resort in a short time.
Snowbird has 2,500 acres with terrains for beginners, intermediate and advanced users and has a total of 89 runs. The Mountain School offers instructional programs in skiing and snowboarding.
Snowbird has excellent accommodations with four slope side lodges, multiple bars, over a dozen restaurants, and spa services. Snowbird’s mountain village includes a state of the art 29,000 square foot meeting space, which expands outside with a tent covering. The Cliff Lodge, Lodge at Snowbird, The Inn and Iron Blosam have more than 800 total rooms and offer a wonderful staying experience.
Snowbird is located at over 7,500 feet above sea level and goes up to a maximum altitude of 11,000 feet at Hidden Peak, which can be reached by a large Aerial Tram. There are 10 total chairlifts including four high-speed detachable quads and six doubles.
Snowbird receives an average of 500 inches of snowfall annually with the typical skiing and snowboarding seasons lasting from November to May.
